May 4th, 5:00 to 10:00pm Linda Dubin Garfield and Susan
DiPronio. The collaboration of Linda, a visual artist, and Susan, a performance
artist, was recently awarded the Leeway Foundation Art and Change Grant
for 2007 for its impact on social change.
This project is a way to explore how women in our society become invisible and
lose their voice. Attendees are encouraged, with the help of Linda, to paint
their self portrait. The portraits are then hung in the exhibit or the women can
take them home. In Susan’s part of the installation a room is set up to present
the overwhelming ‘voices’ of those who feel as if they have none. “screams”
is an audio installation piece complimented with live performance. Viewers
are encouraged to submit their ‘screams’. For more info:www.pinkhangerpresents.com

June 1st, 5:00 to 9:00pm, Featuing the Glass Art of Eric Jennings. I started working with glass when I was a student at Tyler School of Art. The process intrigued and amazed me. Over twenty years later, I have yet to become bored or to run out of ideas of things I'd like to try. To manipulate a molten ball of glass is a truly exciting experience. Part of the excitement comes from my never really having complete control. It is when an artist is able to "let go" when the real art comes out. Glass allows me to express my ideas that come from a lot of external influences. But while I'm working, I get into a "zone" and the art comes from within. - Eric Jennings, Artist Statement

March 2nd, 5:00 to 10:00pm, Val Rossman’s pastel drawings combine lyrical explorations in gorgeous color, controlled line, and exuberant mark making to create a body of work that is fun, frivolous, and very exciting. Rossman’s love of color and line are evident in these drawings which are a chaotic blend of chance and careful planning, a process she views as a metaphor for life.
