The interweaving of metal and color combine to create intricate and wearable works of art. The metal is highly polished and with a patina finish to further add depth and color. Each piece is handmade and one-of-a-kind. Julia Blaukopf creates one of a kind artisan necklaces and earrings on mother of pearl medallions and shell. The pieces depict city scenes, figures, and landscapes from photographs taken on her travels through Europe, Africa, and places throughout the US. Julia is an artist who has worked with a reforestation project in Kenya, a women’s empowerment organization in Ghana, and multiple efforts in Philadelphia to help raise awareness through imagery. Her photographs of intimate moments between families, strangers in the city and local workers are aimed at creating an alternative documentary. Most recently she traveled to Lithuania to photograph for the Summer Literary Seminars, and international writering workshop. |
